DANISH OPTIMISTIC ON ECONOMIC VALUE OF NUTRITIONAL THERAPY
Stine Palle
Interview by Astrid Blute, Nestlé Health Science at ESPEN 2018 with Stine Palle, Naestved Hospital, Copenhagen.
From ESPEN 2018, Madrid September 1-4 September.
MB: And before me I have Stine Palle from Denmark and enjoying ESPEN. I would like to ask you what are your key takeouts from these days in Madrid?
SP: Okay, thank you. I really enjoyed speaking to my colleagues here. And one of the sessions that I really loved was how to improve quality standards in nutrition therapy. So to have this new knowledge, I’d really like to bring it home and try to improve what we’re doing at home in Denmark.
MB: Could you please summarise what your key takeout was from that seminar?
SP: So one of the things is that we have to be a little bit more systematic to all the ordering to really see what is the problem here and also to have some key things to work with. What are the three things that we really need to do more about? Do we have to educate more? Do we have to measure more? Do we have to…what are the main problems that we need to solve? So…and also be optimistic about it, so there is also a goal there. We have the economic issues also. So we will have something back again. So when we improve the nutritional treatment we can also get the economic effects in the long term. so, yes, I’m optimistic about it.
MB: Thank you very much and I hope you enjoy your stay further on.
